Seminar | Technology sustainability assessment

Dissemination activities involving the project team continue. This time, on March 24, the seminar "Assessment of Technological Sustainability" took place again at Unimore, one year later, dedicated to students of the course "Sustainability of Products and Processes" (Master's Degree in Management Engineering).

The theme of technological sustainability: the possible fourth dimension of sustainable development was presented during the event. Following the holistic view of Life Cycle Thinking and the methodological scheme of ISO 14040, a framework was proposed to carry out the assessment of the technological sustainability of an organization (O-TSA) and a product or process (P-TSA). The mathematical model for constructing the Technological Sustainability Index was then presented.

Finally, the possible applications of this tool were explored and how it was specifically employed within the REDiRECT project was explained.
