REDiRECT at the XXX National Congress of Commodities Sciences

UNIMORE presented preliminary results of the LCA (LIfe Cycle Assessment) analysis at the National Congress of Commodities Sciences held in Bari, Italy, October 27-28, 2022. The congress was organized by AISME, the Italian Academy of Commodity Sciences.

Grazia Maria Cappucci illustrated to the congress attendees the modeling of the mining process to conduct the LCA analysis. The study was based on the definition of new indicators related to the extraction of potash feldspar called Eurite (mined on Elba Island) in the IMPACT 2002+ calculation method, in order to dynamically attribute environmental damage due to the extraction of the mineral.
