Sustainability assessment of the sourcing phase

In the ceramic product life cycle, which includes sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, use and end-of-life, one of the most environmentally impactful phases is that of the raw material supply system.

In order to perform a proper assessment of the environmental impact of this phase, UNIMORE has conducted an in-depth study of the ceramic and mining supply chain in recent months.

Based on the data acquired, the environmental sustainability assessment is now underway.

The activity will conclude with the creation of an environmental sustainability assessment tool (LCA) customized on the ceramic and mining reality, which will complement that of technological sustainability (TSA), economic sustainability (LCC) and social sustainability (S-LCA).
